Dawn of the New Tomorrow – Meeting the Covid-19 Challenges

It has been seven-months since our life has been restricted because of Covid-19. This has led us to question what our future will look like.

In the art world, we have been faced with the cancellation or postponement of art and design fairs. This has reduced artists’ ability to personally connect with potential collectors, interior designers, gallerists, etc.

Professional artist marketing activities has taken on greater importance. Like the art and design fairs moving to a digital platform, artists need to embrace new tools and expand existing tools.

Since the start of Covid-19 restrictions, I have participated in webinars to develop and enhance my skills. One particular webinar, by Startup Canada, provided the framework to develop a short promotional video clip to present who you are and what you do. For me, this provides an essential tool to reach out and capture the interest of potential collectors, designers, gallerists, etc.

I am pleased to launch the video clip now.

This video builds on my other activities:

  • Promotion of my artwork through the participation in competitions.
  • Launch of my blog in the spring – Spirit of Analog Art.
  • Publish my artwork in magazines, books, and sites.
  • Expand my social media coverage to include Facebook.
  • Share creative posts on my social media.
  • Work with my galleries.

Contemporary fine art photographer Dale M Reid took charge of her destiny by making a commitment to herself and her life partner and soulmate.
Reid’s belief in herself has allowed her to chart a new course in life as a full-time professional artist and transgender woman. As Dale transitioned through her new life journey, she developed technical skills, questioned convention, trusted her instincts, and with her passion, was able to craft a distinctive artistic voice. Her artwork ranges from classical to sensual to erotic and engages the viewer to question what they see.

Thank you, Dale for reminding us… the creativity of the artist is boundless and Art will find a way despite the restrictions of the pandemic.
As the observers of art and the creators of art, mankind has an innate desire, perpetually driving us to seek out both its creation and its enjoyment. Art will find its way <3

Thanks for your feedback Pia. Creativity comes in many forms and during this period I have channeled my creativity on marketing activities. It has become more obvious, that by being open and sensitive to what is around us, new avenues of exploration open. This will be evident in my future blog posts.
