Preface
Pears forms one of three subjects included in my still life portfolio. To highlight my artistic vision, I created five episodes posted to social media over the past two and half weeks. Each episode focuses on a theme using a different grouping of pear images created from 2004 to present.
In each episode, I present aspects of my artistic vision. To engage you, I injected humour, as well as related episodes to current events. At the same time, to create a personal connection and complete the story, I augmented the episodes with personal ad hoc images and clipart.
I titled the presentation “An Affair with Pears”. For ease of finding the full story in one central location, I created a blog (Spirit of Analog Art) category with the same name.
The episodes include a short discussion to set the scene and a slide show. For your convenience, I converted the slide show to a PDF file. To view, just download the file.

Episode 1
My affair with pears started in 2004 as I was studying various subjects to expand the content of my portfolio.
After a shopping trip, I was in the kitchen positioning a group of pears and visualizing making a unique statement. About a week later and another group of pears, I created the following images:
· Pear Affair 1 (strength)
· Pear Affair 2 (love)
Pear unique characteristics including their suggestive human form, individuality, and personality captured my interest. These images were my first foray into still life photography.
In 2010 at the 5th Annual Black & White Spider Awards, Pear Affair 2 was honored with a nomination in the Professional, Still Life Category.
As you can see from my logo, Pear Affair 2 was my inspiration.
My composition objective is to create innovative pear images that are playful, mischievous, fanciful, and sensual.
