Author: Dale Reid
Contemporary fine art photographer Dale M Reid took charge of her destiny by making a commitment to herself and her life partner and soulmate.
Reid’s belief in herself has allowed her to chart a new course in life as a full-time professional artist and transgender woman. As Dale transitioned through her new life journey, she developed technical skills, questioned convention, trusted her instincts, and with her passion, was able to craft a distinctive artistic voice. Her artwork ranges from classical to sensual to erotic and engages the viewer to question what they see.
“Twas the Night Before Christmas”

Edited version by Dale M Reid Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care; in hopes that St. Nicholas would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, as visions of sugar-plums […]
Creativity
Creativity is defined as “the use of the imagination or original ideas”, especially in the production of an artistic work. My creative process for floral studies begins at a local summer farmer’s market or boutique florist with my selection based on an initial emotional response. I look at individual cut stems or a bouquet of […]

Analog Art – Special Offer and Updates Hello! It now has been almost 8-months that we have faced the Covid-19 restrictions impacting our lives. I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe. Personally, while I have not been able to create new artwork, I have been investing my energy in developing tools to communicate with […]

It has been seven-months since our life has been restricted because of Covid-19. This has led us to question what our future will look like. In the art world, we have been faced with the cancellation or postponement of art and design fairs. This has reduced artists’ ability to personally connect with potential collectors, interior […]

As we enter Labor Day weekend, I reflected on a group of images of interior industrial spaces that I created in 2004. I feature these images as a tribute to the workers of the world. The first Monday of September in Canada and the United States was created to celebrate labor’s contribution. This day is […]
The Dance Club

Summer is half over, and we have been in lockdown since mid-March, I felt it was timely to share an upbeat story – The Dance Club featuring dancing pears. Yes, pears can dance! Let me explain. I am getting ahead of myself; first, I need to provide some background. Prior to designing and opening my […]

My sustained investigation of black and white floral studies may seem nostalgic next to the preference for color demonstrated by most artists. But the restricted palette, which recalls that of photographers Robert Mapplethorpe, and Imogen Cunningham, is most effective at conveying their poetic voice, often with sensual and erotic undertones. The calla lily captured my […]
In Celebration of Bastille Day

The 14th of July is the day of the national French celebration. Established in 1880, this date commemorates both the storming of the Bastille on the 14th July 1789, which ended absolute rule, and the Festival of the Federation of the 14th July 1790. Celebrations are held all over France with fireworks. We are all […]
